FAQ's
How often should hosiery be replaced?

If cared for correctly, Activa® and ActiLymph® hosiery will maintain compression for up to 100 washes. This equates to up to 6-months wear.

Closed or open toe?

The choice of style is decided through discussion with the wearer. It can be influenced by foot length i.e. A long foot may fit into a size large but the ankle and calf are size small, so an open toed small would be appropriate.

If wearing the hosiery at night or for several days, an open toe allows the toes to be inspected. If the wearer sees a podiatrist, an open toed stocking will probably not need to be taken off. Painful corns on toes may make an open toe more comfortable.

Knee Length or Thigh Length?

The style of hosiery should be selected in partnership with the wearer to facilitate concordance. It should also reflect the clinical need of the wearer.

For example, if the wearer's symptoms extend above the knee, affecting the thigh, then thigh length hosiery would be ideal.

Can hosiery be worn at night?

Yes, the hosiery may be worn 24 hours a day.
